Tudor Black Bay
Launched in 2012, the Black Bay takes up the codes of Tudor's 1950s diving watches: "Snowflake" hands, large crown and rotating bezel. In 2016, the 41 mm Black Bay received the in-house MT5602 calibre, replacing the ETA base of the first series.
Main versions
- Black Bay 41 mm: red, blue or black bezel.
- Black Bay GMT and Black Bay Pro: second time zone function.
- Black Bay Chrono: chronograph.
- Black Bay 58 and Black Bay Ceramic: covered separately.
What drives value
- The version and bezel colour.
- The calibre (in-house, or ETA base on the first series).
- The strap or bracelet: riveted steel, leather or fabric.
- The box, the warranty card and the straps supplied.
Price benchmarks are published on the Value page: they are market estimates, not sale prices.
Authentication checkpoints
- Snowflake hands and quality of the luminescence.
- Crown and caseback engravings.
- Serial number matching the warranty card.
- Inspection by a watchmaker.
None of these signs is enough on its own to guarantee authenticity: features vary across years and references. Every piece is examined as a whole by our experts before any offer.
How to describe your search
- Give the version and bezel colour you want.
- Specify the strap or bracelet you are looking for.
- Tell us whether the box and card are essential.
Black Bay Tudor: every piece we offer is one of a kind, appraised then photographed in our Paris workshops before going online. A collectible watch is judged on the consistency of its overall condition: unpolished case, original dial and serviced movement.
How to authenticate
- Case and movement numbers consistent with each other and with the reference
- Calibre opened in workshop: original finishes, engravings and parts
- Original dial and hands, homogeneous lume, no repainting
- Strap, deployant buckle and links stamped by the manufacturer
