Why this list is not a ranking
Monogram does not publish resale times or gains by house: its jewellery sales volumes do not, at this stage, allow a defensible ranking of these houses. We present them against the same criteria — history, benchmark lines, demand seen at Monogram, availability, servicing and budget — without claiming one house is better than another. No house pays to appear here.
What sustains the value of an item
- A line continuously produced for at least ten years
- Classic materials and colours rather than seasonal ones
- Documented condition, including original accessories
- Traceable authentication, enforceable upon resale
Top 10 maisons — joaillerie: every piece shown here is a one-of-a-kind, appraised then photographed in our Paris workshops before going online. A piece of jewellery is judged by the quality of its setting, the purity of its stones, and the integrity of its hallmarks.
How to authenticate
- Hallmarks and maker's marks verified under magnification
- Setting checked stone by stone, no re-tipped claws
- Gemmological certificate where it exists, cross-referenced with the piece
- Serial engraving and model number consistent with the house's archives
